The International Legal Clinic

Free legal assistance for non-citizens

Indonesia’s national human rights system has not always been able to address the concerns of people who are not Indonesian. The Clinic offers free assistance so that they can use international human rights mechanisms instead.

I

Bringing cases forward

Helping people bring violations that happened here before international bodies.

II

Contributing to the law

Offering what we learn from these cases to the slow work of forming international law.

III

Bringing standards home

Making international standards available to advocates working in Indonesia.

These three approaches follow Beth Lyon’s account of how advocates can use international law (2008).
